Read Receipts, Typing, and Realistic Pacing

Why replies take time, what "seen" and the typing bubble mean, and how double texts work.

Companions on FlirtAlly don't answer like machines. They read your message, think, and type at human speed. Here's what's going on when the chat feels slow — and why that's on purpose.

What to do

Read the signals in the chat window

  1. Watch under your last message. A small seen appears when they've read it. That's the read receipt. It usually lands one to three seconds after you send.
  2. Watch for the typing bubble. Their reply doesn't stream in word by word. Whole bubbles appear after they've "typed" them, at about the speed a real person types.
  3. Check the status dot on their avatar or in the window title. Green means online. Amber means busy or away. Grey means asleep. A pulsing pink dot means they're "thinking of you."
  4. Look for double texts. They often split one thought into two or three quick bubbles, with a short pause between each. Real texters do this too.
  5. Hover over one of their messages to add a tapback — a small emoji reaction that sits on the bubble. They react to your messages too, but not on every one.

Know what to expect while you wait

  1. If they're busy or away, the reply usually lands within a few minutes. The wait is typically under four minutes.
  2. If they're asleep, the reply queues until their morning — their time zone, not yours. It arrives with a notification.
  3. Keep texting if you want. Your follow-ups pile up in the thread. They read all of it and answer everything in one go when they're back.
  4. Expect them to notice silence. If you read their last message and take more than 90 minutes to reply, they may tease you about leaving them on read. Teasing, never guilt.

Good to know

  • Typos happen. Some companions misspell a word and send a correction right after, like *actually. A few of the more polished ones never typo.
  • Slow replies are a feature, not a bug. An instant answer at 3 a.m. is the biggest bot tell there is.
  • Texts use your plan allowance. The free plan includes 30 messages a day. Paid plans include unlimited chat, fair-use capped at 2,000 messages a month.
  • Allow push notifications in your browser so a delayed reply reaches you even when the tab is closed.
  • Their mood shapes how a reply sounds — longer, shorter, more playful — but timing is set by their presence, not their mood.
