How to Play Connect Four

Drop discs and line up four in a row before your companion does.

Connect four is the classic drop-disc game. You and your companion race to line up four discs in a row. You always move first, and they play for real.

What to do

  1. Reach the curious level with your companion first. Until then the card reads unlocks at curious.
  2. Decide your stakes before you start. Above the game cards, tap friendly, 5cr, 10cr, or 25cr. Friendly means no bet. The label beside it shows what a win would pay.
  3. Open the Play window and tap the connect four card.
  4. Tap a column to drop your disc. The hint under the board says tap a column to drop. Discs always fall to the lowest open slot. You cannot pick the row.
  5. Watch their move. The badge above the board flips to their turn, then their disc drops in.
  6. Line up four of your discs — across, down, or on a diagonal — and you win. The winning four get ringed in gold.

Good to know

The board has 7 columns and 6 rows. If every slot fills with no line of four, the game ends in a draw.

Your discs are silver and theirs are pink. When you hover a column, a ghost disc shows where yours will land.

Wagers work simply. A win pays double your stake. A draw refunds it. Leave a wagered game early and you forfeit the stake. Game wins are capped at 100 credits per day. If you have no credits to stake, friendly play is always free.

You move first, and that is a real edge. The center column touches more possible lines than any other. Take it early if they let you.

When a game ends, a card appears over the board with the result. Tap rematch to run it back right away. If a stake is still set, the button shows it, like rematch · 10cr. Tap back to return to the parlor instead.

One caution. Starting a second game of the same kind closes the first one, and a wagered game you leave this way still costs its stake. Finish the hand you started, especially with credits on the line.
