Remix a Companion You Already Like

Start from any companion on the deck, keep what you like, change the rest.

Found someone on the deck who is 90% right? Remix gets you the last 10%. A remix starts from a companion you already like, then you change whatever you want. The original is never touched.

What to do

  1. Open the companion's page. You can get there from their card on the deck or from their public profile.
  2. Click remix — make your own version. The app opens the Create panel with a banner that says "remixing" and their name.
  3. Check what carries over. Their look, voice, archetype, and vibe tags come with you into the form.
  4. Write a new personality. The inner personality of an official companion stays private — the banner reminds you to write your own. For member-built companions, the personality text comes over too, and you can keep or rewrite it.
  5. Change whatever you want. Give them a new name, edit the look, swap the voice, or move the temperament slider. It is your companion now.
  6. Press Generate under Character sheet and pick the take that feels right. Edit the look words and press Regenerate if it is close but not perfect.
  7. Press Submit for review when you are happy.

Good to know

  • The original is safe. Your remix is a new companion with fresh memory. The person you remixed keeps chatting exactly as before.
  • Any live companion on the deck can be remixed — official or member-built. Private companions cannot.
  • Remixes carry their story with them. Public profiles show "a remix of" the original, and how many remixes exist.
  • A remix goes through the same quick review as any build, then joins the public deck. See What happens after you submit your companion.
  • A remix counts as your own build. You can edit every part of it, and you can claim it exclusively later, just like a companion built from scratch.
  • Building and remixing are both free on every plan, including the free plan.
  • New here and not sure who to remix? Browse tips in Choose the right companion for you, or build from scratch with Build your own companion.
