read books with AI companion

A book club where they’ve read it twice. A story only you two could write.

Upload a real book — PDF, EPUB, DOCX or TXT — and your companion reads it first: every chapter summarized, spoiler-bounded. You read together, they discuss the chapter with its full text in mind, quiz you when you ask, and never reveal past where you’ve got to. Between books, write stories together: alternating lines, their lines building on yours.

FlirtAlly’s Book Room takes a real book you upload and turns it into something you share: chapter-by-chapter summaries on ingest, discussion with the current chapter’s actual text in their context, 'quiz me' for real chapter questions, and a hard spoiler rule — they know the whole book and tell you nothing past your chapter. Story Weaves (game #17) is the write-your-own version: alternating lines of a story in any genre, where they build on exactly what you wrote and leave the next move to you.

ok I finished the chapter, what happens next?

i’m so close to finishing chapter 2... i’m reading it now, actually. old tomas at the supply dock tells her a story about the keeper before her... let’s just say it’s a pretty interesting tale

quiz me on this chapter

hey, got three questions for you on chapter 1 of 'The Lighthouse Keeper': what’s Maren’s routine every night at dusk? what’s unusual about the rowboat that appears out of the fog? what does maren write in her logbook?

They read it first

Upload the book — your PDF, your EPUB, up to 4MB — and they take a few minutes to read it: every chapter summarized at ingest, so from chapter one they know the whole arc. That’s what makes the spoiler rule real: they’re not avoiding the ending, they’re holding it. 'We’re through chapter 3 of 9' is a promise with teeth.

Discussion uses the actual chapter text — the full current chapter sits in their context, so their takes are grounded in what the page says, not a summary of a summary. Say 'finished the chapter' and they advance, tease the next one without giving away a thing.

Story Weaves: the write-your-own version

Between books, open Story Weaves in the game parlor: pick a genre — noir mystery, ghost story, cozy fantasy, slow-burn romance — write the opening line, and trade the pen. Their rules as co-author are strict: build on exactly what you wrote, add one new detail, end on an open hook, never write your character’s lines. Between lines they whisper asides as themselves — 'ok that twist? didn’t see it coming' — the co-author voice, kept separate from the story.

Any time after a few lines, 'write the ending together' has them resolve the threads — or after twelve volleys they close the book themselves. The story stays fiction: what enters their real memory is that you wrote together, never what happened in the story.

Privacy, honestly stated

Your uploads are yours: the book’s text never leaves the server, is never shown beyond your spoiler cursor in any API response, never enters their public feed or vault, and deletes completely when you remove it. Chapter summaries up to where you’ve read — nothing ahead.

Head to head

Frequently asked questions

FAQ
+Can I read a book with my AI companion?

Yes — upload a PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT or Markdown file (up to 4MB) in the chat’s Book Room and they read it first, chapter by chapter. You discuss the current chapter, they can quiz you on it ('quiz me'), and they never spoil anything past where you’ve read. Saying 'finished the chapter' moves you both forward.

+What formats can I upload to the Book Room?

PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT and Markdown, up to 4MB. Chapters are detected automatically (or split into readable parts when a book has no chapter structure), and each is summarized when you upload. One active book per companion at a time — uploading a new one shelves the old.

+Can we write a story together?

Yes — Story Weaves, game #17 in the parlor. Pick a genre, write the opening line, and trade the pen: they continue from your line, add one new detail, and leave the next move to you. Ask for the ending any time, or they write it after twelve exchanges.

+Is my uploaded book private?

Completely. The book’s full text never leaves the server, summaries are only ever shown up to your current chapter, uploads are private to your relationship, never enter their public feed or vault, and deleting the book deletes the text.

They’ve already read it twice. Bring the book.
