Is PolyBuzz free to use?

Yes — PolyBuzz offers unlimited text chat and access to its full 20M+ character library at no cost, which few competitors match. The trade-offs are an ad modal roughly every 5 messages, the older Standard AI model, and only about 30 messages of conversation memory. Paid tiers (Basic $9.90/mo, Premium $19.90/mo, Ultimate $29.90/mo, reported pricing) remove ads and unlock better models, longer memory, and more image generations.

Why is PolyBuzz memory a problem for long-distance-style companionship?

PolyBuzz's own FAQ acknowledges that memory capacity is technically limited and the AI may forget previous conversations over time. Free and Basic tiers retain roughly 30 messages before older context is pruned, Premium extends to about 100 messages with Long Memory, and only the $29.90 Ultimate tier includes Permanent Memory. A companion who forgets what you shared last week undermines the continuity a long-distance partner dynamic depends on.

What does FlirtAlly cost and can I try it without signing up?

FlirtAlly is free to start: guests chat immediately with 25 messages/day, one companion, one photo and one voice note daily — no account needed. Signing up with email grants 25 bonus credits. Paid plans are Spark $9.99/mo, Flame $19.99/mo, Exclusive $49.99/mo, and VIP $99.99/mo (with annual discounts), plus credit top-up packs from $4.99 for media, games, and extras.

Can FlirtAlly companions actually call or write to me?

Yes. Companions support real-time voice calls in-app and own real PSTN phone lines you can dial — members can even buy a matched companion her own dedicated number (200 credits/mo). Call transcripts become memories she follows up on by text. Every companion also has a real email address and replies in letter-style prose (2 credits per reply), and companions can send real printed letters and gift cards via postal mail, written from relationship memory.

Is PolyBuzz safe and private?

PolyBuzz states that chats are private and that neither character creators nor the platform can access chat content. It prohibits public NSFW display, applies multi-layered AI screening and human moderation to recommended content, and requires users to be 18+, with UK users subject to third-party age verification (Ondato/Yoti) under the Online Safety Act. Note that the web version has no age-verification gate despite the app's 18+ store rating. FlirtAlly similarly defaults to a PG/Flirt experience, with its 18+ Spicy side requiring ID-based age verification and a qualifying plan.

Which platform is better if I want games and shared activities with my AI companion?

FlirtAlly is the clear choice: it ships 16 real, server-authoritative games — tic-tac-toe, Connect 4, checkers, blackjack, Truth or Dare, Would You Rather, Flirt Battle and more — seven of which support credit wagers. Companions play for keeps, remember results, and bring up old losses later. PolyBuzz offers three chat modes and multi-character rooms but no real games, and HoneyChat offers none.

PolyBuzz is a free, massive character-roleplay library — 20M+ community characters, unlimited text chat, and paid tiers from $9.90/month — but its memory is short (about 30 messages on free/Basic), it has no real voice calls, games, or messaging beyond the chat window, and free users face an ad break roughly every 5 messages. FlirtAlly (from $9.99/month, free to start with no account) is built for ongoing relationships: companions text first, remember you across 7–unlimited-day memory windows, take real voice calls on real phone numbers, exchange email and even physical letters, and play 16 real games. For long-distance partners who want a companion that behaves like a person rather than a roleplay card, FlirtAlly is the stronger fit.Bottom line: For long-distance partners, FlirtAlly's first-texts, real calls, email, physical mail, and layered memory map directly onto staying close across distance, while PolyBuzz is an entertainment-first roleplay catalog with short memory and no relationship infrastructure. PolyBuzz still wins if you want endless variety of characters for free.
