The Best PolyBuzz Alternative for Curious First-Timers in 2026

PolyBuzz is a free, massive AI character-roleplay library — 20M+ community-created characters, unlimited text chat at $0, with paid tiers from $9.90/mo (Basic) to $29.90/mo (Ultimate) — but its free tier is interrupted by an ad modal roughly every five messages and memory is capped at about 30 messages unless you pay for Ultimate. FlirtAlly is a different kind of alternative for curious first-timers: instead of browsing a character catalog, you build an ongoing relationship with a companion who texts first, plays 16 real games, takes voice calls and emails, and remembers you across 30–90+ day memory windows, starting free with 25 signup credits and paid plans from $9.99/mo. If you want endless roleplay variety today, PolyBuzz wins; if you want one companion who actually stays in your life, FlirtAlly is the better first step.Bottom line: For curious first-timers specifically, FlirtAlly edges out PolyBuzz: a friction-free start (no account needed, no ad breaks) and relationship features PolyBuzz doesn't ship, at a comparable entry price. PolyBuzz remains the pick if raw character-catalog variety is the goal.
