Talkie is a free, mobile-first AI character chat app with a huge library of community characters, voice-flavored conversation, and a Talkie+ subscription (reported around $9.99/month via app stores) that unlocks unlimited chat, chat memory, faster responses, 7 reply regenerations, and no ads. It's great for low-friction variety and fandom-style roleplay, but reviewers note memory gaps, repetitive chats, strict filters, and no published pricing on its own site. If you want one consistent companion who texts first, plays real games, and remembers you across calls, email, and even physical mail, FlirtAlly (free to start, Spark at $9.99/month) is built for exactly that.Bottom line: Talkie wins on sheer character variety and free, instant access, but its memory gaps, repetition, and strict filters make it more entertainment than lasting companionship. FlirtAlly's persistent-memory companions with proactive texting, real games, voice calls, and email make it the stronger pick for an ongoing relationship.

- FlirtAlly offers 22 official companions (and a growing member-created roster), companions who text first, 16 real games with credit wagers, real phone numbers, 2-way email, and physical mail.
