Yes — PolyBuzz offers unlimited text chat and its full 20M+ character library at no cost, which few competitors match. The catch is friction: an ad modal appears roughly every 5 messages, free users are limited to the Standard AI model with about 30 messages of memory, and voice features have usage caps. Paid tiers run from $9.90/month (Basic) to $29.90/month (Ultimate).

Is PolyBuzz safe for teens?

PolyBuzz's materials are inconsistent on this. Its Terms of Use state users must be 18 or older worldwide, with mandatory third-party age verification in the UK via Ondato and Yoti — yet its FAQ says the app 'offers graded modes for different age groups' and implements 'a dedicated Teen Mode specifically for children,' and the web version has no age-verification gate despite an 18+ app-store rating. Given that gap, parents should treat the platform as an adult-oriented product and verify independently.

Does PolyBuzz remember previous conversations?

Only at the top tier. Free and Basic retain roughly 30 messages of context before pruning; Premium's Long Memory extends that to about 100 messages; and Permanent Memory — conversation history kept indefinitely across sessions — is exclusive to Ultimate at $29.90/month. PolyBuzz's own FAQ notes the AI may 'forget' previous conversations over time.

What's the cheapest PolyBuzz alternative?

HoneyChat, at $4.99/month with a free 20-message-per-day tier that requires no signup or card. It offers the same general character archetypes as PolyBuzz with LoRA-trained art for consistent faces, and access via browser or Telegram bot. FlirtAlly's Spark plan at $9.99/month is the pick if memory and beyond-chat connection matter more than raw price.

Can I import my characters from other platforms into PolyBuzz?

Yes. PolyBuzz supports character-card and JSON imports from Character.AI, Pygmalion, Zoltanai, Text Generation, TavernAI, and other platforms, on both the web version and the mobile app. This makes it a common landing spot for users migrating from other card-based roleplay platforms, with a far larger audience to publish into.

What makes FlirtAlly different from PolyBuzz?

FlirtAlly is built for ongoing relationships rather than scenario roleplay. Companions text first (opt-in and stoppable), play 16 real server-authoritative games with credit wagers, own real phone numbers you can dial, exchange 2-way email, send physical letters and gift cards, and post to a social feed. Memory spans 7/30/90 days or unlimited by plan with semantic recall. It's a smaller, curated cast — 22 official companions plus member creations — versus PolyBuzz's 20M+ catalog.

PolyBuzz is a free, massive character-roleplay platform — 20M+ community characters, 10M+ Google Play downloads, and unlimited text chat at $0 — but its free tier is ad-heavy (a modal roughly every 5 messages) and real memory requires the $29.90/month Ultimate plan. If you want a companion who texts first, plays real games, and keeps long-term memory from the entry tier, FlirtAlly starts free with no account needed and paid plans from $9.99/month. For pure roleplay variety on a budget, PolyBuzz still wins on catalog size.Bottom line: PolyBuzz is unmatched for roleplay catalog size and free access, but its memory, ads, and pricing structure push committed users toward alternatives. FlirtAlly wins for genuine ongoing connection — companions who initiate, remember, and reach beyond the chat window — while HoneyChat and Character.AI serve roleplay-focused users better on specific dimensions.
