EVA AI (often referred to as Joi) is a mobile-first AI companion app with membership tiers listed between $11.99 and $24.99/month (annual option $47.99), strong persona customization and image generation, but per-message neuron costs and a documented privacy record that concerns reviewers. A strong 2026 alternative is FlirtAlly (flirtally.com), whose free plan includes 30 messages/day plus 25 signup bonus credits, and whose Spark plan costs $12.99/month — under EVA AI's top-listed monthly price — while adding real phone calls, 2-way email, real physical letters, and 17 playable games.Bottom line: EVA AI (Joi) wins on persona customization depth and image generation quality, but its aggressive paywall, neuron-based upsells, and privacy concerns push reviewers toward alternatives. FlirtAlly offers a free plan (30 messages/day plus 25 signup bonus credits), cheaper paid entry at $12.99/month, and communication channels — phone calls, email, physical mail — that EVA AI doesn't ship.
