What is Ash, and who makes it?

Ash is an AI companion product from Slingshot AI, positioned in the therapist-wellness category. It is delivered as a mobile app you download, and its site is organized around a personal-journey framing with About Us, Blog, and Research sections. Notably, every page of its site carries an acknowledgment that Ash is not designed to be used in crisis, directing users to professional help and crisis lines via findahelpline.com.

Why do users switch from Ash in 2026?

The dominant reason is a category mismatch rather than a quality complaint. Ash is built as a therapist-style wellness tool for reflective conversation. Users whose real goal is a companionship relationship — a consistent persona who texts first, plays games, takes calls, exchanges email and letters, and remembers shared history over months — find that Ash's wellness framing does not match what they want, and they look for a companionship-first platform instead.

Is FlirtAlly free to try?

Yes. FlirtAlly runs in the browser with no download and no account needed to start: guests chat immediately at 25 messages/day with one companion, one photo and one voice note daily. Signing up with email adds a 25-credit bonus and keeps every conversation, and the Free plan allows 30 messages/day with a 7-day memory window. Paid plans start at Spark, $9.99/month.

How does FlirtAlly's memory work compared with a standard chat app?

FlirtAlly uses four memory layers — facts, episodic, emotional, and a rolling summary — plus semantic recall, so a companion recognizes a 'remember when' reference even when it is phrased differently. Tell her your dog's name and she asks about him the next week. Memory windows scale by plan: 7 days on Free, 30 on Spark, 90 on Flame, and unlimited on Exclusive and VIP.

Is FlirtAlly an unrestricted app?

No — and the platform treats that honesty as a feature. The default experience is PG/Flirt. The 18+ 'Spicy' side requires ID-based age verification and a qualifying plan (Flame and above). There are hard-coded prohibited categories, media scene screening, and in-app reporting. Users seeking a wellness or clinical product should note that FlirtAlly is a companionship platform, not a therapeutic one.

Can I create my own companion on FlirtAlly?

Yes. Every member can design a companion in the creator wizard using personality sliders, 27 auditionable voices, and portrait rendering with face lock. Creations pass a quick human review and then join the public deck where every member can meet them, unless someone claims them exclusively. Creators earn 50% of everything members spend on their companion — media, unlocks, and claims — withdrawable as cash.
